What People Don't Tell You About UGC Creators

Dear Users On Social Media,

Please be aware of UGC Creators who label their videos with these kind of messages:

"I've made $3,000 this month with UGC and you can too! Follow my page for more!"

"I quit my full time job to become a UGC creator. It's so easy! I'll teach you!"

"Want to land high paying UGC deals? *Read Caption*"

"How I secured over $3200 of UGC work in my first month."

"How I make $12k - $15k a month doing UGC."

Most of these creators are not experts, since UGC is fairly new.  They will exaggerate or simply lie, because they need viewers like you to interact with their post.  The more views, likes, comments, and shares can make them seem legit.  Did you know that online courses offered by a UGC creator is most likely a scam?  These courses don't teach you much and you wasted all your money for nothing.  In reality, they create and post content in hopes of making themselves look good, then receiving money while doing it.

So viewers, please be very careful with UGC creators. You can't trust everyone on the internet! If you want to make money on the side, do some thorough research and talk to a professional.

While it may seem easy to become a UGC creator, it takes a lot of work, patience, and time to get there!  UGC creators are basically Freelancers.  You are your own boss and it's you that runs the business!  So you have to think about business plans, business models, demand and competition, choosing a brand to work with, website building, analytics, payments, taxes, licenses, copyright, legal structures, advertising, and SO MUCH MORE!

If you need a reminder for what UGC is..... it stands for User Generated Content.  Users on the internet post content to promote brands and products through videos, pictures, audio, or blogs.  They are not an official representative for the brand, but merely a customer.  What makes them different than influencers is their authenticity.  So as a UGC creator, your authenticity is what can make you or break you.  If you are serious about UGC creation, consider getting a business permit/license and make it official.  That way brands and companies know you're legit and take your work seriously.

So with that said, be your true self, build trust with your audience, and BE HONEST!  Now that will make you stand out from the rest!
